Ohio’s Hospice Loving Care Recognizes Volunteers at Evening With the Stars Event

As part of National Volunteer Month, Ohio’s Hospice Loving Care recognized its dedicated volunteers at the Evening With the Stars recognition event on April 21 at Der Dutchman in Plain City, Ohio. 

“Our volunteers are an important part of our mission to celebrate the lives of those we have the privilege of serving by providing superior care and superior services to each patient and family,” said Annetta Dellinger, manager of volunteer services at Ohio’s Hospice Loving Care. “We’re grateful for our amazing volunteers and the difference they make in the lives of the patients and families we are honored to serve.” 

Upon arriving at the event, volunteers walked the red carpet lined with their pictures in stars while staff paparazzi took pictures. Gold stars outlined in lights covered the photo booth and stage, shining a light on volunteers as they were honored for their time and skills. After dinner, the volunteers were surprised to find that each one had a gold envelope with a personal note written inside. In addition, every volunteer received a star-shaped trophy and a certificate.  

Two volunteers were recognized for their outstanding commitment to the hospice mission. Liz Yutzy received special recognition for 25 years of volunteering with Ohio’s Hospice Loving Care. John Dellinger was recognized for volunteering 257 hours of service in 2021.
